Oviedo is Delicious, Exotic, Beautiful, Clean, Pleasant, Peaceful, and Kind to Pedestrians. It’s as if it doesn’t belong to this world, as if it could not possibly exist … Oviedo is like a Fairy Tale”
Woody Allen

I just post processed some of the photographs I took in my trip to Asturias. I should clarify that I am not a traveling person, not because I do not like to travel but because I have no time and no budget for that, therefore every time I go to any place, almost for any reason, I take my camera with me, just in case…

However, this trip was planned as a gift from my kids, and although my available time was really short – nine days – it was the perfect occasion to enjoy capturing the world opened in front of my eyes. Coming from Orlando, Florida, the impact was immediate: first of all, the hills and mountains with their omnipresence. An intricate labyrinth of roads, trails, footpath, to a diversity of villages, towns, cities, in or between those green walls, sometimes speckled by rocks, sometimes appearing like monumental rocks lying on an earth of giants. Nature is the predominant feature in Asturias, even in the cities, and the people are in a dynamic relation with her. Asturians love to walk in such a way that every village or city is the paradise for pedestrians. Oviedo, Avilés, Gijón, Llanes, all those cities are plenty of wide boulevards and promenades with lots of hideaways and secret corners between them. Here are some images from those places that I happily toured.
